Here we take into consideration how the wear material is composed.  

Depending on the requirements we use the following welding materials

  • Fe-Cr-C steel with chromium carbide
  • Co basic materials (stellite)
  • Ni basic materials
  • Alloys with tungsten carbides

We find the right combination of processing and material
Once these criteria have been checked, we select the appropriate combination of process and material to reduce wear. Material that is highly resistant to the intrusion of a hard body shall for instance be selected in the case of pure abrasion. In the event of an almost vertical impact of hard particles soft material coating is chosen. It can absorb the high kinetic energy of the impacting particles like a spring and deliver it to the wear body. Thus it offers a higher wear protection than the selection of very hard materials whose surface is destroyed.  

We find the most economical solution
The wear situation is not only affected by the direction and velocity of the wear materials, but also by their size, not to forget economic considerations. In addition to purely technically aspects, these often play a crucial part in the decision. If the correct wear protection is chosen, this not only has a positive impact on the economic efficiency, but also minimizes contamination of the products. This is enormously important for the food sector to ensure a consistent high quality.
