The components are checked before they are hard-faced
What is the main strain and what type of wear (such as abrasion, erosion, corrosion) is predominant?
We select the best suitable welding procedure
- Autogenous flame-spraying
- Autogenous build-up welding
- MIG/MAG solid-wire welding
- MIG/MAG flux-cored wire welding
- WIG welding with cold wire
- PTA welding (plasma)
Here we take into consideration how the wear material is composed.
Depending on the requirements we use the following welding materials
- Tools steel
- Austenitic manganese steel
- Fe-Cr-C steel with chromium carbide
- Co basic materials (stellite)
- Ni basic materials
- Alloys with tungsten carbides
We find the right combination of processing and material
Once these criteria have been checked, we select the appropriate combination of process and material to reduce wear. Material that is highly resistant to the intrusion of a hard body shall for instance be selected in the case of pure abrasion. In the event of an almost vertical impact of hard particles soft material coating is chosen. It can absorb the high kinetic energy of the impacting particles like a spring and deliver it to the wear body. Thus it offers a higher wear protection than the selection of very hard materials whose surface is destroyed.
We find the most economical solution
The wear situation is not only affected by the direction and velocity of the wear materials, but also by their size, not to forget economic considerations. In addition to purely technically aspects, these often play a crucial part in the decision. If the correct wear protection is chosen, this not only has a positive impact on the economic efficiency, but also minimizes contamination of the products. This is enormously important for the food sector to ensure a consistent high quality.
Our staff members are professionals
Our skilled wear protection experts process the components we receive from our customers or we restore the functionality of components on site. We also produce completely new parts, many of which are designed and produced custom-made on our premises - approx. 6,000 m² with modern equipment.
Regeneration and preventive hard-facing
The correct wear protection reduces downtimes and increases productivity. Therefore, many customers decide on a preventative protection for new plants and machine components at comparably low costs – even before their first use. Whether refurbishment or preventive hard-facing for new parts – you will benefit from our long-term experience in the most diverse sectors.
Let us know what you need wear-wise – we will find the optimum wear protection.
