Rehart at the Technikerbörse in Nuremberg
9 March was the big day: Stephan Bauer and Philipp Schülein presented their project work on “The development of a component system for maintenance-free bearings” at the Technikerbörse (Engineering Exchange) at the Rudolf-Diesel-Fachschule (RDF) in Nuremberg. Following the presentations the companies present at the fair were keen to solicit applications from the young technicians and engineers, who will soon complete their studies.
Since September last year, the two RDF Nürnberg students have been working on their project every Friday. In close cooperation with Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Christian Habermann and the entire hydroelectric power department, they have been puzzling over and working meticulously on a maintenance-free solution for the lower bearings in a hydro power plant. The aim was to execute the roller bearings and the compensation of linear expansion separately. The deadline for the completed project work was 17 March. The project is currently in its final phase and will be put into practice on a near-term basis. This way, in future maintenance-free bearings can be built into all hydro power plants of Rehart GmbH and plants already in operation also upgraded.
We would like to thank Stephan Bauer and Philipp Schülein for their commitment and dedicated work on the project and wish them every success for their remaining studies and the upcoming final exams.
