Quite a big thing ...

Every year the very substantial volume of 1.4 million tons of waste is incinerated at AEB in Amsterdam, making it the largest waste incineration plant in the Netherlands. Around one million MWh of electricity is generated per year, supplying 320,000 households with energy.

We have produced large-scale hoppers for the four incineration lines. With a length of 10.5 meters and a height of more than four meters the “structures” were not exactly what we were used to seeing in the REHART production halls. The hoppers are the connecting link between the waste bunker and incinerator and are subject to very high wear and tear due to the various materials that “slip” through. A perfect application for our composite hard-faced plates! 28 individual panels made of RVP (composite hard-faced plates) were installed per hopper, i.e. a total of 350 m² highly wear-resistant material.

Following the delivery of similar, albeit smaller hoppers to Mallorca, REHART once again made a good impression with this project – which was also attested by the satisfied customers.
